Given that the Nook has always ran a custom version of Android and the Nook Color has been hacked six ways to Sunday, further proving the device capable of such feats. This move only makes sense and can only bring more customers their way. Though it doesn't look like it will be stock Android or even the official Android Market, it will still be nice to have a bit more of the power of this device unlocked. Any Nook Color owners out there (who haven't hacked their device) excited about this news? Or maybe a better question... Are there any of you who haven't already hacked your Nooks? &nbsp;;)</p>

I'm one of the handfull that have not rooted either my B&W 3g or my color NOOK. I've got my iphone for all the apps I can use -- don't need another money pit (at least apple & android apps are a ton cheeper than the winmo apps were).

What is the killer app that would tempt me over to the dark side??

You know, I was given an iPad first gen at work and at first I was going crazy installing all kinds of games and apps. Now, I never touch it except to read or browse the internet (which is just more reading). I am thinking the Nook is looking pretty good to me if I am going to use my own cash to buy one.

I guess the only app I can think of that would make me want to root it would have to be... Kindle?

I haven't rooted my NC yet, and I have been looking forward to a few new apps to put in there (I pretty much ignore the ones that come standard). I was a bit disappointed when I heard some of them would be paid apps, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. At this point, I just want to see what they are!
