After it became vacant in 2000 he sought permission to raze it and build something else on the site but ran into several roadblocks and lawsuits due to the historical significance of the house. It appears all that was sorted out, and now the mansion shown above is a pile of rubble, after certain things were salvaged from the property for their historical significance such as the flagpole, the copper mailbox, roof tiling and other things. It does look to me like a pretty cool house, but perhaps to Jobs it just wasn't worth fixing up. Regardless, now he can build what he wants on the property. </p>
