The company was showing off its inMotion Air speaker, which allows you to stream music from your computer via a special wireless dongle. When connected to a computer via the adaptor, the inMotion Air has a range of 100 yards to stream playlists, internet radio or other audio content."

I have a portable wireless bluetooth speaker that I use on my travels so I can listen to music in my hotel room, and I have always been impressed by the distance my mobile phone can be away from the speaker and it still play the music clearly. However, 100yds is a seriously impressive distance to transmit music. Admittedly this requires a proprietary usb stick to be in your PC to achieve the 100yds, but nevertheless, it's still a long way. It is portable, though it looks a little big to me, and it can run on it's own rechargable battery for approximately 7hrs, and connects to your mobile devices via bluetooth. Pricing is expected to be $200 and available from Radioshack and Altec's own website.
