Say what you will, but I also install iWork on my machine. There are some obvious tweaks I do as well, such as changing where Safari downloads files and modifying some of the notifications. I found this article interesting and learned a few new things but it brought up a question in my mind, what do people do with their new Macs when they first get them? I'm sure there are several variations that are used but I'd like to hear about them. So, what are your thoughts on tweaks and programs that are must have on any new Mac you setup?

Me? I installed Windows 7.

:D:D:D

Seriously though, on my Mac Mini I installed Dropbox, TweetDeck, and that's about it - I'm still trying to get comfortable using OS X before I get into the apps...

Like Jason, I install Windows 7 (was using Boot Camp, but now using Parallels 5). But I have a long list of must install programs that include Accordance Bible, Logos for Mac, Growl, Nambu, Flip4Mac, Perian, Microsoft Office (currently 2011), Dropbox, Meteorologist, Evernote, UltraLingua Spanish/English, NetNewsWire, iWork and OmniOutliner Pro. These programs are my MUST haves on any new Mac.
