Shockingly, the new 13.3" Macbook Air seems to come closest to the mark...but, given a choice, I'd prefer to not give Apple more of my money. I have no plans to run OS X regularly on it, so something that's built specifically for Windows 7 is more to my liking (rather than using Boot Camp on the Air)."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/zt/auto/1289832145.usr105634.jpg" /></p><p>Interesting discussion over at our sister site, Digital Home Thoughts, regarding the question of which laptop the readers are suggesting for Jason. I'm kind of in the same boat, although my choices are limited to two, a MacBook Air or a MacBook Pro 15 inch, so I started reading through the thread and the MacBook Air was suggested by several readers as their choice for Jason. I'm leaning to this as the improvements have really piqued my interest and fills some of my need for speed in a laptop. Coincidentally, this <a href="http://www.macworld.com/article/155639/2010/11/whichmac2010.html?lsrc=rss_products_mac" target="_blank">article from Macworld</a> came out about that very topic.</p>

I'm glad the article provided some food for thought.

What really amazes me is how virtually no Windows laptop maker is going after the premium market with a premium product - it's like they believe that some who wants a 13.3" laptop only wants to spend $800 or less. HP's Envy 14 is one of the rare exceptions...

For the Windows side, I have a Dell Latitude E Series. It literally has the "kitchen sink" in terms of features.

This was bought a year ago and the processor specs have changed to i series. But its loaded:

Latitude E6400, Intel Core 2 Duo T9800, 2.93GHz, 1066MHz 6M L2 Cache, Dual Core, 14 inch
8GB 800MHZ memory memory
Backlit keyboard
ABGN wireless with three antennas for maximum N speeds
Bluetooth 2.1 EDR
Mobile broadband built in - Verzions, AT&T, Sprint compatible
Single connector docking station with dual DVI ports
eSATA external port and multiple USB ports
Firewire port
Displayport for DVI and HDMI
Blu-ray reader and writer
Webcam
Fingerprint reader with security chip
Wireless Securecard reader
Expresscard 54 slot
128GB SSD
3 year onsite warranty

But be prepared to pay through the arse: $2,500 :)

Whoa whoa whoa, are you telling us that your Dell has BOTH HSDPA and CDMA radios?!
