Microsoft seems to think so, as seen in this stop-motion web video highlighting a Windows 7 laptop computer and a jealous MacBook."</em></p><p><object width="600" height="360" data="http://www.youtube.com/v/_YbmK3Zu0Os&amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;ap=%26fmt=18" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_YbmK3Zu0Os&amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;ap=%26fmt=18" /></object></p><p>Hmmm, I really don't see the need for a blu-ray player in my laptop, but if Microsoft was so big on Blu-ray then why don't they put it in the Xbox where I could really use it? That is one place that I do miss it since I would like to get rid of my Blu-ray player and consolidate some of my audio visual equipment. Either there or as an option in my Mac Mini. What are your thoughts on Blu-ray in a laptop, or even in general?</p>

Honestly, I just don't care. Blu Ray, to me, is just another checkbox that Windows folks can go "See? We have this and you don't!" Big effing deal. I don't even know the last time I tried to use the optical drive in my MBP to watch a disc of any kind.

Not interested and don't care.

Actually it's a cute ad. But it's a little ironic that:
The last time I used a laptop large enough to appreciate Bluray on a plane was... never.
In the living room (a place where Bluray matters), I can watch Bluray on a PS3 but not on an XBox.
