Many people who were in need of a portable PC selected iPad as their mate. When the Apple iPad was announced many companies started planning a tablet for their own brand and the iPad Killers were born."

Here's a quick comparison between a real product, the iPad, and to this point, a concept, the PlayBook. Some head-to-head statistics, but nothing really about how the iPad is succeeding based on usability and ecosystem, not purely on specs. Many of the story's comments lambast the author as gushing over what is basically vapourware until it can actually be held in the hand. Based on the planned availability of the PlayBook, a better comparison may be between the next iPad and the PlayBook. I like the PlayBook's concept, and the idea of a QNX-based OS, but as for calling it superior before it is even close to being real, um, not yet.
