And just as an outspoken minority has banded together in unison to declare their distaste of one of nature's most delicious herbs, some of you have been very vocal about your dislike of conversation threading. So just like you can order your baja fish tacos without cilantro, you can now get Gmail served up sans conversation view. Go to the main Settings page, look for the "Conversation View" section, select the option to turn it off, and save changes. If you change your mind, you can always go back."

Now this is an interesting development - considering that threaded conversation-type views were what made Gmail different in the first place! But for those of you who don't like it, you'll now be able to turn it off. I have no idea if this will carry over to the mobile platforms (let's hope it does, otherwise it would be a really broken experience), but I do know it should make people who don't like threaded views happy. So come on out threaded reply haters, let me know who you are and if this rocks your world today!

I will say that for me, at least, the whole threaded conversations took (and still does) take some getting used to. Hopefully the will port this over to the mobile app.

Awesome! Definitely needed in the mobile view. I'm making the change immediately.

Didn't seem to work for me in the Android GMail client, but haven't tried the mobile web version - I bet it works there.
