Interesting: it is very good till 35/40 secs. After that I am not impressed by the progression of the incoming phone; I am talking about the photgraphy here, with their budget they could have aired Tony Scott.

Also the music is wrong: too slow for the action; it would have been good for camels walking in the desert non an approaching "revolution".

Said that better than average MS spots.

When I clicked to link to the page that this was first reported on, namely tmonews, my Norton internet security had a dicky fit, and would not let me see it. It says that tmonews is a bad site.

Do they advertise Windows Phone or Jihad?

Do they advertise Windows Phone or Jihad?

Both the images and the music is from Lawrence of Arabia; at the time the Jihad was allright and politically correct because it served well Allied interests.
Not my words: T. E. Lawrence states it in " The seven pillars of wisdom: a triumph"...........

Sure, but that was in 1962, today is 2010. Is MS so out of touch?!

It says that tmonews is a bad site.

As far as I know, tmonews has never been a 'bad' site, perhaps they posted an article once critical of overpriced software :D

And on topic, I dig the ad. Looking forward to see WP7 in the flesh (so to speak).

The movie covers the Arab (muslim) rebellion against the Turkish Ottoman Empire (also muslim), basically an independence movement - jihad doesn't come into it.

Guys, if anybody is having trouble with the tmonews site, you can try Engadget (http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/06/windows-phone-7-ad-promises-the-revolution-is-coming-video/) instead. You're not missing much anyway, the tmonews commentary is just a few lines noting the LoA resemblence.

Hmm, that's interesting. So it looks like Norton uses a blanket blacklist of sites that Google (or others) raise concerns about. I wonder if MS Security Essentials actually tests the page vs. using a list, hence no warning.

In general though it's clear MS Security Essentials has some fundamental differences in how it operates vs. other virus scanners.
