This gets into the classification of smartphone. This device is correct in not having a touch screen. It's meant for 1 handed operation and focused on being a phone first and foremost.
Smartphones are meant to be a phone first, and do data second. Where as a wireless handheld is meant to do data first and phone second. Sure, it may sound like a small difference, but that's pretty much how the industry classifies these devices. While Palm may call the Treo a Smartphone, it's really a wireless handheld because it's aimed at data first and has that touch screen. :?
