Hmmmm... sorry, no ideas here. It worked first time for me, and every subsequent time. I really didn't have to do anything. I didn't even know there WAS a red LED light! I seem to remember from the instructions there was a certain order to turning on the subwoofer, then the main unit. But I can't remember exactly now. Maybe a call to Samsung is in order???
