When I looked up this message, it said this happens when the book is installed on a storage card. I installed to main memory and got the same thing. Anybody know a way around this? I've been at this for four years and it's wearing me out.
It can also happen if you reinstalled the reader but didn't uninstall and reinstall your activation. I recommend trying the following steps:

1. If you haven't soft reset your Reader since installation do so now
2. Uninstall your activation from either your Activesync/device manager or from "Remove Programs" under settings on your device.

3. Go to http://das.microsoft.com/activate/en-us/default.asp?& to activate
4. Soft reset your device

If that doesn't resolve your issue please call (866) 834-8317 or go to http://www.microsoft.com/reader/info/ for additional support.

Sincerely,
Christine - Microsoft Reader Team
