I've been using the Dash 3G for the last month and it's been a generally good experience. I live in SoCal and have a reliable 3G signal which gives typically 500Kbps to 1Mbs speeds. Tethering to my laptop has worked well, but the big disappointment for me has been that voice and data cannot operate simultaneously. When using a data connection and a voice call is received, the data connection will be dropped. I was under the assumption that, like AT&T, T-Mobile would offer simultaneous voice+data with their 3G rollout. Unfortunately T-Mobile does not offer this feature and this was confirmed when I spoke to a T-Mobile rep.
Speed and battery life have been quite good.
The only reason I got the device was for the 3G data. Since T-Mobile bought their 3G spectrum that is not compatible with anyone else's, they have a big disadvantage - a severe lack of 3G devices. I'm not a big fan of this form factor and if I had more choices, I would not have purchased this device. The CPU is fast and the keyboard is decent, but the display is small and because of it's "wrong" orientation, cannot display a lot of information. My favorite device was the HTC Vox. When the Touch Pro 2 can be had for a more reasonable price, I will be dumping the Dash in favor of it.
