Load any picture with a large dynamic range or challenging lighting into ACR, and then into Capture NX. NX photos look better, with better tonality and dynamic range, and it takes a lot of effort to get ACR close to NX, and it's not the same tweaks all the time.

Also, ACR will not do the auto chromatic aberration correction built into NX, based on NEF data. That to me is a huge feature; it's like having new leneses again!
