Yes they are. It streams the map data, kinda look google maps. I'm currently in Texas, followed that link, signed up, instantly got a sms to the download link, installed it and now i'm testing it out. Just set a destination from san antonio to austin and it mapped it just right.
App still needs some work though. Its a little slow and when you exit it prompts you "Are you sure you want to exit
?" haha someone over looked something...
