It's actually pretty easy to remap the PTT button, if you're at all familiar with regedit and the Windows file system. Here's how:
1) In your favorite registry editor, change HKLM\services\ptt\dll from PTTService.dll to an empty string and soft reset. (This is all you need to do if you just want to avoid the nags about signing up for the push-to-talk service.)
2) In \Windows, create shortcuts named short_PTT.lnk and long_PTT.lnk that point, respectively, to the commands you want to run for a short or long press of the PTT button.
That's all that's needed.
