The thing I'd most like to get on my network is a doorbell!! I have my office in a log cabin at the bottom of the garden. No wireless doorbell I've found yet has the range to make a repeater ring down there, and it'd be a lot of work to run additional cables. I live on a farm, and I've got a doorbell that rings in the house as soon as anyone trips the eye on the driveway coming in (quite annoying when deer do it actually). (Very long driveway) It works through the power grid- so both ends have to be plugged into your power grid. I would imagine that more sophisticated security systems would have something that would connect to a PC. This was a low-cost security answer for me.
