It depends.
1. Pocket Player supports AAC-LC and HE-AAC on Phone Edition devices (but NOT on Classic PPC's)
2. Pocket Music supports both AAC-LC and HE-AAC on all machines if and only if you purchase the additional AAC pack.
Note that
1. neither of them support HE-AACv2, the latest-and-greatest sound format.
2. Pocket Music is NOT recommended for playing back HE-AAC because of the high CPU usage.
