Excellent review. Very even-handed, informative, and thorough. After 2 days with the Blackjack, I decided that I needed to look for an alternative solution. When I received the phone, I allowed it to charge thoroughly and then used it. Having read about other users experiences, I turned off all items that could accelerate battery drain when I wasn't using them - bluetooth, ir, internet exit, etc. I enjoyed it thoroughly for the day, went to sleep with the battery meter displaying 2 bars. I awoke to find the phone totally drained and off. I feel that for the money paid, if a smartphone can't give at least 1.5 days of power then it really isn't for me. My experiences with the included 1800mAh have been somewhat better, but the battery meter behaves like a defective gas gauge: after it is half empty, the remaining drain is VERY fast. Just one man's short perspective. I have the 8525 coming in today and have already ordered the 2800 battery for it. I wanted to go for slimmer than my Treo 650, but certainly don't want to sacrifice reasonable performance expectations.
