(Boy, you get a little too much nog in you and fire off a silly thread, and look what happens! )

It's true, everyone is getting sooo sensitive about "offending" others, that they are becoming overly-sensitive about being offended. I say Happy Holidays to be all-inclusive, but I still risk offending people who don't celebrate anything in December (and yes, there are plenty of them!).

But I wasn't actually opening this thread to debate political correctness. I opened it to get people to read e-books over the holidays!

Well...

Actually, I did it because I had too much to drink that night, and I was in a very silly mood! (Can you buy breath-alysers for PC keyboards?)

But as long as we're talking about the subject: Those of you outside the U.S. may not know this, but in 2005, the Wal-Mart chain decided to say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas"... and received untold amounts of grief for their trouble. In 2006, they went back to "Merry Christmas," and now their detractors simply call them "gutless wimps."

Ya can't win.
