is that another political correctness thing?
i realized, a few days ago, when they had a bunch of "VIP"s say something about the 24th ... they all said "happy holidays".

is this to prevent non-christians to feel offended?

not sure where all this is going to end.

here in austria there seems to be a wave of "equal rights" going on, and some politicians actually want to replace 50% of all traffic-signs where the male symbol/icon is portrayed.

i'm sorry for abusing your post to ask this question ... but your thread title just sparked something in my brain that tells me "where is this going???"

sure, some words/expressions are old, outdated and offend people.

but why does someone feel offended, when a store clerk tells him "merry christmas", but he might celebrate something else?
why do austrians think that female construction worker icons will make the world a better place for women to live in ?

i invited my family along with my in-laws, and cooked my first 11-pound turkey along with a bunch of typical canadian side-dishes.
maple syrup was used extensively, i even found some mountain dew in the czech republic

hope your past days were as interesting, stressful but gratifying as mine were, and a good start of 2007 to y'all!

EDIT: to actually refer to steve's post: yes, buy your friends and family a book. and if anyone who likes to read uses a pocket-pc, get them a book from steve jordan. dont't let the sci-fi turn you off, his newest mystery is really really captivating!
