Yes, this product was intended for environments with WiFi, where there is no requirements for a connection to the phone system but it is desirable a) not to have to be contacntly connected to the public internet (like Skype), b) to have no setup and servers involved (easy deployment and maintenance) and c) all what is required is one-to-many paging and one-to-one full duplex direct calling.

Other products only supports many to many full or half duplex voice, which we have found not to meet the needs to most businesses. iTalkie also adds critical usability, device integration, power and network management capabilitiers. You can set it to to autostart and it will be always resident in the background until you are called or need to call/page someone.

Could you tell me if this app can keep your pda on always so that it can be used effectively for paging purposes.
I am wondering if 4talk or this app can be used in a hospital environment for paging purposes and full duplex communications, where cell phone signal may not be available all the time but wi-fi could be available as in our institution.
Thanks.
