The asnwer to "Why" is in Forbes this month. In their Richest Americans Issue they list Steve Jobs. In his write up it says that Apple is extatic about its IPod sales, but concerned about its ITunes sales.
So, how do you fix Itunes? Make it available, and, in Apple's mind, hopefully the defacto computer, phone, PDA, music download system regardless of the OS. You don't grow a business by limiting it's accessibility. If they want ITunes to catch up, and become, or remain viable they need to be on every device possible. Maybe even web-enabled refrigerators!!!!! :lol:
