I'm actually in just the same position. I'm not always in a WiFi hotspot, and $200 for a refurb iPaq 1940 seems like a sweet deal. I'm highly interested in SNES emulation, too, which I understand the iPaq can do admirably, but the X30 can simply rock with.
On the other hand, some are complaining about button issues with the X30.
