I've owned Journal Pro for a couple of years now and I like it alot. I don't keep a regular diary, but I jot down every new development in my son's life, or any major thing happening to myself. It jumps from entry to entry, so it's fun to go back and read about what happened. It also has a desktop companion, which I like too, because I'm a fast typer.
I would give it a try, it's not very expensive and it's a very stable, useful program.
