Yes, and Firebird should fly on it. I have a 3GHz HT + 9800 setup at work, and I love Firebird's performance.

I have two pieces of advice:

1. Make sure you're running the latest version of the ATI drivers.

2. In the URL bar, type about:config, and search for the preference labeled nglayout.initalpaint.delay. Change that to 0. By default, it's set to 250ms -- what it does is to wait that long before showing anything on a page -- this is useful for slower computers to prevent rerendering a page as more of it is downloaded. By changing it on a fast computer, it gives the browser a little extra "oomph".
