Updates:

The not turning on problem is related to HPs power management. Not all devices seem to have this problem but I have talked to at least 23 others that do. May be more of a problem for the 2215 but I am not sure how that would make any difference, they are supposed to be the same.

I went to every ppc reseller in my area and tested the inbox problems I am having. It is a PPC 2003 problem. Every device at every store had the problem. I tried HP 1945, 1910, 2215, 5455, toshiba e330, and some viewsonic thingy. The problem mostly has to do with IMAP4. POP3 and activesync seem to work fine. Athough the POP3 did have the send button problem. The send button problem seemes directly related to the name you give the service. I named my IMAP4 servise SMSU and the send button will not work. If I leave it named IMAP4 it works. I have created several random named accounts and a few have worked. I have named my service Bearmail now (what the university web email is called) and it works, the send button anyway.
It still will not receive headers correctly but if I go through the elaborate process I described before it kinda works.

Not waking up for alarms was a problem with my ipaq 3630 and 3800. Not to suprising that HP still cant fix that. I had just gotten used to my Toshiba actually working for alarms and reminders.

the "abc" tab problem I could not reproduce on any other device i tested. It must be something I did to mine.

also I tried HP mobile printing and it does not work. It runs but gives me an error when i try to add a printer. "Error saving printer information." Kinda hard to print with no printer installed... I uninstalled, reinstalled, even installed the ppc 2002 version... all the same error... :?

I did exchange everything... battery, cradle.. all of it.
I also tried with and without the SD and/or CF cards just for the heck of it.. no diff..

I do feel a bit better knowing that i am not alone in some of these problems but how long to we have to keep paying for defective products?

I know my Toshiba had it's problems, activesync connection dropping, battery drop to 1% randomly, today screen fonts all going white, and i kept hitting that stupid battery stitch... but all of those were fixed in a rom update (except battery thing but it was made very easy to fix).

So hopefully there will be a rom update out soon.. I love the hardware of the 2215. i do miss the loss of the USB host and VGA of the toshiba but i can survive... (i love nevo. )

Also the guy at best buy took my number and said he would call me as soon as one of the new HPs came in if i wanted to exchange for that.

So all around i am feeling much better now....

I was sooo frustrated Tuesday that i was ready to take it all back and get a palm..... *shudder* I poped back to reality as soon as i had to reboot a server via terminal services on my ppc.

I know this question has been raised bofore but how defective can a ppc be and we still be willing to pay for it?

Wouldn't you all feel better if you spent your hard earned money on a device you could rely on? (no comments from the palm groupies pls.. JK )
