Congrats. I bet a program had crashed and that's what was causing the screen unresponsiveness and slowdown.

In a related vein, I use PHM Task Manager extensively. Every once in a long while, I'll tap on the bottom-right of the today screen to open it and that spot is dead. If I remove it from the cradle/reinsert it, it works again.
