I subscribe to ATT wireless and they talked me through how to set up the 5450 as a modem.
Once that's done, the IPAQ dials out through the t68i (which also needs to be programed). I would call T-mobile to see what they can do. Of course the connection is slow, because it works like a conventional modem. Good luck.
