in the specifications [and most of the manual], there is a typo [it says CD storage, should say CF storage] ... it is very obvious that the manual is still a 'work in progress' [go to page 1-8 in manual#1 .. apparently, 'Bill will give me the rest of this info'

it is hard to tell if it is type I or type II @ this time. however, i m guessing it is a Type II, but i m NOT 100% sure of that.
