You have a great point about the 360 wireless controllers not coming with the rechargeable battery pack included. Guess I forgot about that. It was, however, an option from the get go. When I bought my 360, I bought the rechargeable battery pack the same day. It was not until weeks after purchasing my Wii that I found out about the rechargeable battery options for the wiimote. Some of which are not even out yet and they are all third party options.
I will add that 3rd party accessories have come a long way. I remember when they used to be just cheap knock-offs of the original accessories. Now they are really starting to show some innovation.
