Default PC World: "Intel Invests in the Digital Home"

http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,115769,pg,1,RSS,RSS,00.asp

"Intel's capital arm, Intel Capital, has invested in four wireless and networking technology companies in the hope of solving interoperability, bandwidth, and distribution problems in home entertainment devices, the company says.

Intel expects their technologies to help solve problems that are hampering the exchange of games, music and video between multiple home entertainment devices, it says. Intel launched its Digital Home Fund in January with a total of $200 million to invest, but it did not disclose how much it had invested in any of the four companies."

This is quite interesting, and could have major ramifications for the consumer electronics industry as a whole. Imagine how liberating it would be if our digital devices were not virtual islands of disconnected data and content as they are now. Go Intel!
