Don't give up hope that quickly - check out
http://www.cnn.cn and look under Dopod (the phone is the same, just different name) and you'll find replacement screens. Someone else here had the same problem and said it was easy to replace.
I've been meaning to post this to the front page... That's twice someone's had the problem. Guess I reall really need to post this to the front page. :?
