Sorry, I was away for a few days and THANK YOU for the advice.
However, I still can not get it connected.
1. I installed AS3.8
2.I tried The tough fix:
- Go to Control Panel->System->Hardware Tab->Device manager. In the USB (Universal Serial Bus) section look for an entry with a yellow exclamation. Delete it. Reboot the computer and then re-try the usb connection
I did not see any USB with yellow exclamation
3.>plug the MPX220 back into your pc - different USB port if possible
When I did this, I got the same message.
"USB device not recognized.
One of the USB devices has malfunctioned and windowns does not recognize it"
